Feast of The Transfiguration of Jesus

Today is the feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus, the Transfiguration is the day when Jesus led his disciples Peter, John, " And he was transfigured before them." "Then Elijah appeared to them along with Moses, and they were conversing with Jesus." (Mark 9: 2-4)

Appearing in majesty. And they spoke of his decease that he should accomplish in Jerusalem. (Luke 9:31)

The Catechism of the Catholic Church said "For a moment, Jesus discloses His divine glory, confirming Peter's confession. He also reveals that He will have to go by the way of the cross at Jerusalem in order to enter into His glory"

Furthermore, the Transfiguration  it is the fourth Luminous Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. Also know as the Mystery of Light, because Jesus is the light of the World.

And whilst he prayed, the shape of his countenance was altered, and his raiment became white and glittering. (Luke 9:29)

Now Let us Pray:

A PRAYER FOR ‘THE TRANSFIGURATION OF OUR LORD JESUS’

At the Transfiguration, Father, You showed

Jesus in glory, a glimpse of what His disciples

would see in His risen life.

Bless us in our humanity,

with an awareness of Your presence,

leading us to share in Your divine life

even in our daily struggle.

Help us to deepen

our knowledge of the Law and the Prophets,

channels of Your grace throughout history,

and signposts for our journey.

Amen.
