An Advent of Inspiration: Day 12!
Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and a Day of Obligation. Pius IX solemnly proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception: "... We declare, pronounce and define that the doctrine which asserts that the Blessed Virgin Mary, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God, and in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, Saviour of the human race, was preserved free from every stain of original sin is a doctrine revealed by God and, for this reason, must be firmly and constantly believed by all the faithful" (DS 2803).
Now for our Advent of Inspiration!
Day 12: "The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them." -Luke 2:9
The Twelfth Day of Advent Prayer
Lord, like a loving parent,
you offer me your comforting hand
and tell me not to be afraid.
Help me to wait for your coming with patience
and to listen to what you ask of me.
I want so much to be one of "your people"
and to live my life in you.
Thank you for the way you bless my life.
Thank you for listening to my prayers
and for planting deep in my heart
the knowledge that with you,
nothing is impossible.
Amen.
Ta, Ta for Now!
